The Monday Mess | Family Beach Vacation 2015

It's Monday again, and that means we are no longer at the beach and are back to real life. You can't see my face as I write that BUT it's not pretty because we are just a little bitter. Maybe our bosses will let us put sand under our desks so that we can cope... better not ask. :D!

Will and his extended family have been taking this yearly trip to the beach since before he was even born! In fact, this is such a long standing tradition that it has become known as THE beach trip not just "a trip to the beach." This year the family decided to move the yearly trip from Ocean Isle Beach to Oak Island, which was a first for everyone! I have got to say that it was AAAAAMAZING!!! We were a short 25 ft walk from the beach, in an 8 bedroom house, with family and PERFECT weather. Seriously it only rained for 20 minutes ONE day! AND the beach allowed dogs! No, no, we didn't bring Autumn and Alex, but it was nice to see little wagging tails and pups running around.

Most of our days were spent under a beach shelter watching the tide go out and then come back in with occasional long walks on the beach and several beach games. This might not seem like a perfect vacation for everyone BUT it suits us to a T! Also call us crazy but when we were all at the beach we kind of took it over! We had 16 people, 1 pop up shelter, 4 umbrellas, 1 cooler, and 5 beach bags!

Here are just a few of our favorites from the beach!

We play a lot of beach games...

Aaaand when we win we are super humble about it...

There was no shark but you can see why someone might think there was!

1,000 piece puzzle in a day!

Basically describes how we felt the whole time...

Put two photographers at the beach at sunset and portraits WILL happen!

Beach selfie!

Family picture time!

It was their anniversary!

These two are married over three weeks now!! Oh newly weds...

Lol just because...

What a good catch... LOL!

And now time to make some frog-more stew!

There are a few secret ingredients...

Including potatoes, corn, onion, 12 pounds of shrimp...

AND most importantly, a touch of crazy... yum

And lastly, who doesn't love a few BLOOPERS!?!

Until next time...
