Shana and Matt first met at a Halloween party years ago, so it was only fitting that they would get married on that same day of the year!! During our bride and groom portrait time we actually passed a group of trick or treaters who shouted their congratulations! It's not every wedding day that you pass a fairy, cookie monster, and three cats all saying, "Nice costume!!" As you can probably gather, it was a unique day from start to finish!!
When I first arrived at the bridal house in Orange, VA, the house felt ready to go. We often come in to bridal suites where it looks like a glam-tornado struck. There are usually shoes, dresses, and make-up thrown about and ladies running back and forth, BUT when I arrived at the bridal suite with Shana, everyone was so calm and ready to go! It was one of the most laid back groups we have ever worked with!! All smiles, no fret!! They were joking from the start of the day until the end!
I think one of my favorite parts of the wedding day was when Shana and Matt took the microphone at their reception. They both stood in the center of their guests, in a warehouse renovated by Matt's father. They both thanked their guests and let everyone know how touched they were to celebrate with friends and family... and then Shana said "We have a gift you all." She then took a long pause, looked at their most loving friends and family, let a smile slip, and said, "It's called daylight savings time. YOU'RE WELCOME!" Everyone erupted with laughter and so did Will and I. It was such a telling moment that I think sums up their playful personalities SO well!!
Shana and Matt, we loved getting to know you both and your unique style and so hope that you are enjoying some relaxation under the warm sun in Mexico!! I hope you love sitting back and scrolling through of our favorites below!!
