Umm what happened to winter?!? Was it really upwards of 70 degrees this weekend or was I just delirious??! If nothing else happened this weekend, that alone was such a sweet gift! BUT more did happen this weekend! Last minute, Will and I decided to head to Charlotte, NC to visit with Will's parents. We didn't go for any particular reason other than to just say hi and spend some quality time with the folks. Isn't that the best kind of visit? There was nothing that had to be done or any particular event. We love holidays and such, but it's so nice when a weekend is free and unfolds spontaneously!! A few things we did this weekend:
- Started picking out images and creating content pages for the NEW BRAND AND WEBSITE!!! IT LAUNCHES WEDNESDAY THE 18TH OF FEB!!!! I can't believe it's less than 10 days away!! Will may have even taken new head shots for me!! ;)
- Sat on the back porch, listened to the wind-chime, and watched the dogs run back and forth. They LOVE the big backyard!! Seriously, Autumn wasn't even chasing anything as she zoomed from one corner of the yard to the next and back again. Alex didn't mind having the space for a good game of catch either :) All the running around wore them out just a bit...
- Saw Glen and Lisa (Will's parents) officially become members of their church in Troutman, NC! They have been attending this church pretty much since they moved down here over a year ago. We have sat-in on several sermons during our visits and are so happy they have found such a great church community!
- Will got approved to take the PE Exam! For those of you who don't know, Will works as an engineer for VDOT (yes, blame him for the bad roads!) and the PE Exam is the Professional Engineering Exam that engineer's take after working for four years as an engineer. It's a very challenging test and it means that the next couple weeks will be very tough! Will will likely be in the PE prep class EVERY weekend for the next 2 months! Gah! Will doesn't seem worried a bit, but I would love for you to keep us in your prayers!
Here are a few more of our favorites from this weekend:
Lisa started making soap!! It's pretty AND smells wonderful!
In true Carolina fashion, we spent all of Saturday smoking pork for supper!
I can't even tell you how wonderful this smelled...
