So this post is coming out a tad later than usual, but hey, we are on vacation! :) Since Christmas eve, we have been at my parents house in Fredericksburg and the break is much needed. You know you have hit a good spot in relaxing when you have to ask what day it is! A couple things we have learned this break:
- There are two ways to open gifts. The first is with delicate unwrapping and usually results in folded tissue paper... the other way is to throw gifts from one person to the next while all tear into paper and bows. We do it the second way and it turns into a laughing, picture snapping good time. I think the only thing that distinguishes us from a herd (pack?) of sharks is the smiling, laughing, and hugs... it's a pretty important distinction now that I think about it! How does your family unwrap??
- Good friends can pick up where they left off. Kala (the matron of honor at my wedding and best friend since the 7th grade) left for Utah two years ago and until this week, we hadn't seen each other since our wedding! Of course we talk over the phone regularly, but it's SO so wonderful to finally sit in the same room, go to lunch, and just be near by! I can't explain it, but I can say that it's going to be hard saying good-bye again! I guess it is just another reminder that Will and I need to hop on a flight over to those beautiful Utah mountains ;)
- New Years is approaching so fast! I have some crystal clear New Year's goals but the plans to make them happen are still pretty fuzzy. Yet, there are just too many exciting adventures in 2015 not to want to start already! For example we are headed to the Creative at Heart Conference this weekend and then to Key West soon after!!
Enjoy a BUNCH of random photos from our Christmas trip from decorating the tree to our winery trip to the Packer's game!
We got a good laugh at Will's stocking! Maybe one day we will make him a matching one with a permanent name!
Alex found his toy under the tree when it started squeaking!!
Gotta love the reaction to mom's photo book gift!
We met Kala and headed to a local winery. I should have mentioned that we also got to see Christian who we also hadn't seen for months!
It was 55 degrees in the middle of December so we enjoyed a bottle on the deck! Also, I know my hair looks terrible in this pic, but I'm just so happy she is back in town for the week!
Just because I love my pups...
If you didn't know it already... we happen to be Packer fans!! These are Kim and Dad's game-ready faces...
Kim had to make sure Autumn and Alex knew who they would be cheering for!
I don't even know what is going on in this pic but it made me laugh...
What did you do this holiday??!
