The Monday Mess

Well, I've got quite the Monday Mess for you today! Wednesday afternoon we got on the road with the rest of America and headed to see our relatives... my relatives to be exact! My parents live close enough to us (Fredericksburg, VA) that weekend trips are very doable and happen many times a year. My extended family, however, is spread out across the entire east coast from Florida to Maine!! It's MUCH harder to see them even annually nowadays, so I was so excited when mom said that some of them were coming to VA to have Thanksgiving with us!!

We played cards and cooked and ate way too much turkey!! Even though we had a few extra days off from work, it felt like the time went by even faster! ...Crazy how that happens. Even crazier is how family can pick up right were they left off! I can't remember the last time I saw some of them, but it felt like yesterday when we all got together in the same room! Family is so rejuvenating! It's truly uplifting being able to "go back to your roots."

Autumn and Alex enjoyed seeing their puppy cousin, Sage, again as well. He is starting to be a giant fur-ball and is as playful as ever! In fact, all three dogs pretty much ran around the house together in a pack all weekend... we would just see a storm of black and white fur whirl by every now and again as they thundered through the house!

Enjoy a few of our favorites from this weekend! There are a combination of DSLR and iPhone images... no judging! ;D

We have several musicians in the family who like to get sing alongs going...

I know this photo is blurry BUT I had to share the ridiculousness that happens when the cooks have been in the kitchen too long...

Again, cooks going crazy in the kitchen...

And yet AGAIN... not sure why they are dancing with spices... but if you can't beat 'em...

Mom was very proud of her potato masher...

Meanwhile, an "experimental" fried turkey was being prepped in the garage. Dad and Will were very proud of their set up...

They even had spectators for the event...

Luna and Tigre were just too adorable all weekend! Do you recognize Luna?? She was one of the flower girls at our wedding!

We found an old photo book of a trip mom and dad took...

We found the gem on the right inside the book!! At least I got to see the picture!!

Awwww!

Now time for a puppy reel...

They jumped and ran and chased tails...

Autumn played referee...

Autumn says "YOU'RE OUT!"

There was some debate...

Alex says "I don't want to play any more."

Sage says, "the game is NEVER over!!"

It only took us several tries for the family picture...

It's not perfect BUT it'll do! :D

This one is actually my favorite...

I attempted MANY pictures of the dogs, but this was the best I got... At least they are all in the picture!!

Slightly out of focus BUT at least we were color coordinated...

I asked mom and dad to smile at each other... welp, this is what I get!

Kim and Arron Rogers.... oh they look so happy...

This is their yay-another-picture face...

Will and I got a picture too... AND then we tried to get the dogs in the picture. Poor Alex was not happy...

Oh dear...

I think there is a theme here... not perfect BUT good enough! Haha!

Faithy became a stylist for a day and trimmed Sarah up!

AND did I mention that it was Tigre's 7th birthday!?!

Oh, our dogs are so mistreated...

We play a lot of cards...

No, really...

A LOT of cards...

Mark and Faith were playing different games... but Mark managed to take a few from Faithy's hand to help him out! It got very loud very fast!

And sometimes we wear funny things on our heads... While playing cards, of course!
