Rachel and Mike's session was originally scheduled for two weeks ago, but a little storm called hurricane Joaquin got in the way! We don't mind shooting in light rain BUT it's a little hard on the camera and the subjects when torrential down pours and 50 mph winds are expected!! We rescheduled for this past weekend and were thrilled when a wave of mild weather greeted us in Washington D.C. Seriously, I don't know how we could have asked for a better Fall day!
We met Rachel and Mike in Georgetown at one of the many beautiful canal locks, within a very short walk to our favorite spots along the water. The Marine Corps Marathon was taking place in the heart of Washington D.C. the next day so we had an abnormally large number of runners pass by us, but Rachel and Mike didn't care one bit! They were INSTANT naturals in front of the camera and where lost in the heart of spending the day together.
We get to know a little about our couples before their engagement session, but I love the engagement session because it gives us a chance to really get to know them and see them interact! That couldn't have been more true for Rachel and Mike. My favorite part was getting to see them joke and make each other laugh! They have known each other for YEARS and were best friends long before they were a couple! You can totally tell. I asked Mike to do the "photo nuzzle" and he about toppled Rachel over!! We all died laughing and had to make a "subdued nuzzle" just for Mike. Hey, you can't blame him! :D
Here are a few of our favorites from this Georgetown engagement! Rachel and Mike, we loved spending the day with you! Thank you for the many laughs and letting us be a part of your beautiful love story.
Can we talk about this dress for a second?! LOVE!!
Rachel, you are stunning!!
Talk about a beautiful spot!
FALL is here and I'm LOVING it! Look at that color...
