Fall is my favorite time of year. Beautiful color, crisp air, and it just has that feeling of excitement as the holidays and family time approaches. Well, Ashley and Stephen's wedding made Fall just that much better and added another heart warming element to my favorite season
Ashley and Stephen are long time friends of ours and were guests at our own wedding, just months prior. Ashley and Stephen have always been the kind of people to radiate happiness, and the wedding day was no exception! The two of them together brought tears to my own eyes on more than one occasion. Maybe its not ok for the photographer to cry. Oh well, arrest me!
As her bridesmaids prepared for the day, Ashley walked me around the house that they were getting ready in. This house was one that Stephen had bought and spent the last several months renovating for their new life together. As we walked from room to room, she boasted about her husband-to-be. Stephen had spent 10 hour days (on top of a full time job!) with his dad turning this house into a home. He took outdated molding off covered walls and changed metallic paint jobs into soft shades of their favorite colors, among many other new-home-ownership tasks. If anyone had any doubts (please, no one did!) this daunting task cleared it up. It makes me sit here and think of our own home and the projects we still have not finished! It gave me a real insight to how hard these two have worked to get ready for this day. Way to go! An inspiration.
Ashley's grandmother has been making a book for her since the day she was born. On the morning of the wedding, Ashley was given the book along with a handmade quilt. So sweet!
Ashley's sister had the same picture of Ashley putting on her garter for her own wedding. Can you see the family resemblance in that smile?
Stephen and his father are career firefighters in Norther Virginia, and Stephen proudly wore his firefighter's medallion for the wedding ceremony. For those of you who do not know, Will and I work with volunteer EMS and strongly admire their service.
The girls were so sweet. They were so ready for pictures and said they had been practicing their laughs! If only every photographer were so lucky. Nice job ladies...
Again, I'm loving the branches as they travel through this picture-space. Maybe I'm just a sucker for crazy branches...
Go ahead rain, they don't care!
