Shana and Matt are in love with the art work at the National Portrait Gallery in DC and it's easy to see why!! Not only does it hold some of the most beautiful artwork in the world, but it also houses some of Shana and Matt's favorite memories. They live in DC and often spend hours walking down the long hallways. In fact, it was the first place they visited after Matt proposed to Shana!
Will and I LOVE natural light, so when Shana and Matt said they felt like the National Portrait Gallery was the perfect place for their engagement session, we were both extremely excited and a little nervous! We are happy to shoot indoors but know that indoor lighting can pose SO many obstacles, especially when flash is not allowed. But honestly, we LOVED being challenged to push our creativity and to capture the importance of this spot for Shana and Matt. And it really was the PERFECT place for Shana and Matt's engagement session! You could tell how at home they felt as we walked through the gallery, stopping at their favorite spots. I almost felt like they were showing me around their home instead of this public spot!!
Enjoy some of our favorites!
It turns out there was a spot with a canopy of natural light, and we loved including this spot!
Love this one!
Shana, you are gorgeous...
This drift wood horse was the most amazing backdrop!
