Valentina and Robert's Engagement Session

Let's face it, an early wake up is no one's idea of a good time! However, it's always SO worth it when shooting in a big tourist city like DC! Not only do we get to skip the crowds, but we also get that gorgeous morning light. Luckily Valentina and Robert where down to brave the waking hours with us so that we could hit the monuments and the Georgetown canal!

Will and I met Valentina and Robert at the base of the Lincoln Memorial and while it was clearly Spring time, the weather had other plans for us - bottoming out at a chilly 28 degrees!!! Oddly enough, this actually worked out in our favor! We had places that are usually incredibly busy almost to ourselves - even the monuments! Considering how amazing Valentina and Robert were to work with, I could have just kept shooting for hours and hours!!

One of my favorite parts of this shoot was how special this location was to Valentina and Robert. They both went to Georgetown and spent their first years together in this special part of DC. Robert also asked Valentina to marry him in Madison, Wisconsin which is very reminiscent of our own capitol! Each part of our session had special meaning to the two of them, and it was wonderful hearing these details and getting this special insight into their story!!

Valentina and Robert, we loved braving the chilly weather with you both!! After meeting you in person we are even more excited for the big day - if that were even possible!! :D

So sweet...

The monuments are just too beautiful...
